Amazon Sued by District of Columbia for ‘Stealing’ Delivery Driver Tips
(Bloomberg) — Washington DC’s attorney general is suing Amazon.com Inc., seeking civil penalties for allegedly misleading consumers who thought they were tipping delivery drivers but had the money diverted to cover the couriers’ base pay.

FTC Returns Nearly $60 Million to Drivers Whose Tips Were Illegally Withheld by Amazon
The FTC will be sending 139,507 checks and 1,621 PayPal payments to Amazon Flex drivers. Drivers who had more than $5 withheld by Amazon will receive the full amount of their withheld tips. The highest amount going to a single Amazon Flex driver is more than $28,000, while the average amount is $422.

The court has an opportunity in Brunson v Adams to hear arguments and rule on the lawsuit. Of course, they won’t, because that leads back to Scalia. But this is one of those cases that could upend everything, which is another reason it will not be heard or ruled on. It’s the same way the Supreme Court found no standing and almost all courts have ruled that the there is no standing of the people against fraudulent elections, yet the damage is daily seen with the Biden Administration pursuing the most reckless, costly policies that are directly detrimental to the security of the United States.

Connecticut to Erase Cannabis Convictions for 44K Residents
Lamont’s statement said criminal justice agencies in the state’s judicial and executive branches are continuing to implement the complex and costly information technology upgrades needed to automatically erase more eligible criminal records in addition to cannabis convictions. His office said the so-called Clean Slate automated erasure system is expected to be fully implemented during the second half of 2023. More than $5 million has been implemented so far in the upgrades.
