Don’t shoot in self-defense — UNLESS
Subtitle: I was a dumb-ass
Unexpected Lessons in Life
The first hour of this program deviates from my usual approach. While it features others’ content, it’s only due to their superior intellect compared to mine. Before I divulge my foolishness, let me share a tale.
I had a friend, may he rest in peace, who owned a commercial building. One day, he called saying a drug-addled man broke in and attempted suicide, changed his mind, and called for help. The aftermath left the building bloodied. My friend contacted a service that cleans up crime scenes, but didn’t discuss the cost beforehand. He was shocked to learn it could cost $50,000.
I explained his right of rescission and suggested he negotiate with them. They settled on $2,000 in exchange for a full release, thus avoiding an expensive lien on the property.
Life is unpredictable; understanding the law is crucial. This brings me to the USCCA – an insurance marketed to gun enthusiasts like myself.
During a recent dinner conversation, someone credible mentioned that USCCA has instances where they don’t have to insure you. Intrigued, I researched further and decided to leave the USCCA behind.
As we delve into guns, insurance, and self-defense for the remainder of this hour – if you’re not a fan, your only recourse is to sue me (good luck) because discussing guns isn’t illegal.

“[T]he next time you read or hear about a murder victim, a rape victim or an assault victim, I want you to preface it with the word ‘unarmed’ so that murder victims become ‘unarmed murder victims’; this is especially true in rape. How many times have you read, ‘An unidentified woman, heavily armed with a semi-automatic weapon was raped by a man wielding a knife.’ No answer is necessary, right?”

Examining Insurance Contract Clauses
The ensuing discourse, in which an attorney examines a contract from one of the insurance companies supporting these policies, reveals distinct clauses that may prompt the realization that the purchased coverage may not align with initial perceptions.
Despite years of maintaining firearms insurance without a claim, this analysis merits attention. The attorney’s presentation adeptly highlights significant deficiencies within the contract, albeit with occasional embellishments.
A subsequent discussion will elucidate my understanding of the underlying mechanisms and rationale for selecting this particular policy.
(52:30)
We’ll delve deeper into the topic in the second hour. As the attorney addressed our contract, now we must ponder a few questions. Please engage in your own due diligence. In the second hour, a scenario awaits your contemplation.
My expertise lies not in discrediting attorneys, but in teaching you how to handle the banks, keeping them honest. Constraints maintain honesty: locks keep honest people honest, fire extinguishers for fires, and guns for ill-intentioned individuals.
Knowledge of the law acts as a shield against those who wield it against you.
Yet ignorance begets consequences. Familiarize yourself with tools like firearms, fire extinguishers, and locks to avoid mishaps. And remember the law is your shield that stabs.
Hour 2
We pick up where the attorney left off on dissecting his retainer program versus concealed carry insurance.

The following is a gun industry influencer. Though I’ve never followed or cared much for him, his message is poignant. If you have USCCA insurance less than a year old, heed his words.
This isn’t legal advice; it’s a reminder not to assume you made the right choice. People reinforce their decisions, often to their detriment.
Take racetrack betting as an example. After placing a bet, anxiety dissipates and satisfaction sets in. Decisions are reinforced through presumption. Many hold presumptions about the legal world and insurance without reading the fine print. To learn, one must read, listen, and watch.
This influencer has around 345,000 subscribers – by Friday, his video may reach 270,000 views (in 3 weeks)– evidence that people are waking up.
He admits to making mistakes; I’ve made them too and confessed my ignorance. Yet, I await someone to prove me wrong with the law, especially a bank.

My summary and scenarios for you to consider before you shoot
Delving into firearms and shootings today is fraught with legal-dangers, given the political climate and prosecutors. With only a few words, I’d like to debunk the myth that possessing testicles equates to shooting skills. Without proper training and classes, you’re unprepared. I recommend attending Appleseed for rifle training using an affordable, reliable 10-22 rim-fire.
As for handguns, safety courses teach caution, but not necessarily skill. Real improvement comes from quality classes like Front Sight used to offer. I’m not perfect, but many would want me by their side in dire situations.
Now, consider these scenarios involving insurance or the alternative, attorneys on retainer. If you remain in one state, $25 a month is reasonable. It covers a lot, if—you can raise a self-defense claim. For nomads like me, nationwide coverage at $35 a month is necessary.
My friend once faced a $50,000 cleanup fee after someone attempted suicide in his building. Attorneys on Retainer cover cleanup, bail, and more – an unbeatable deal in my opinion.
But remember, this isn’t legal or financial advice; just the ramblings of a gun enthusiast.
Consider two scenarios:
First, an intruder charges you with a machete and you shoot them in the “light box,” causing instant loss of motor skills. It’s an easy self-defense case. Yeah!
Second, you’re in a fish store admiring exotic fish when you witness an attempted murder and stop it with a precise shot to the attacker’s light box. However, your bullet also destroys the $40,000 aquarium and many invaluable fish. The anti-gun store owner sues for damages, civilly.
Was this self-defense? Attorneys on Retainer “may” defend you criminally but what about civil liability? That’s where further research is needed.
Recall the chilling tale of a school under siege, with children in peril and the authorities paralyzed by fear. Yet, one brave soul defied their terror, rescuing their child.
But what if the person “took out” the threat – a modern-day hero. We all secretly aspire to such courageous acts, don’t we?
But does charging into danger, like a shopping mall or nightclub under fire, truly qualify as self-defense?
Contemplate the complexities of protecting yourself and others, while remembering that even your insurance company’s umbrella-million-dollar liability policy refuses to shield illegal acts.
The path to self-preservation is fraught with peril – questions you must grapple with before making your decision to shoot.
Many wield (brandish, often an illegal act) firearms to frighten off threats, only to find themselves imprisoned when onlookers report your actions. It takes more than mere bravado to navigate these treacherous waters; wisdom and courage must coexist. Again, ponder this quote from a 1997 letter in the LA Times:
“The next time you read or hear about a murder victim, a rape victim, or an assault victim, preface it with the word ‘unarmed.’ How many times have you read an unidentified woman heavily armed with a semi-automatic weapon was raped by a man wielding a knife?” No answer is necessary – just let that thought simmer in your mind.

Closing comments and intro to the following
Insurance, War, and Friendship
I hope this intriguing blend of insurance, shootings, and attorneys on retainer captivates you. It’s crucial to me.
Tough times are coming; choose your teammates wisely. Decide whether you’re a winner or a loser in life’s battles. Preparation is key; don’t find yourself caged by circumstances. Consider investing $25 a month—I’m not profiting from it in any way; I’m looking out for the underdog.
You, unbeknownst to yourself, are the underdog.
Now, let’s touch on the timely issue of Israel and Palestine. Understanding history is essential; otherwise, you’re manipulated by the media. Learn to entertain opposing ideas and begin your investigation. If you don’t comprehend the situation, you won’t understand why your children may go to war.
Listen to my friend Mike Harris, an accomplished man with impressive credentials. As we age, we grow wiser. Friends are invaluable, and certain people would do anything for their friends.
